A Journey to the southwest with Nashville Pack
I recently had the chance to collaborate with Nashville Pack, and what better backdrop to capture their ultralight gear than one of the most surreal landscapes in the U.S.—The Wave in the Vermilion Cliffs of Arizona. This trip was extra special because it was also my first time exploring the Southwest. The red rock formations, otherworldly textures, and endless desert skies were unlike anything I had experienced before.
We set out early to beat the heat, packs loaded and cameras ready. Nashville Pack’s gear is all about minimal weight and maximum functionality—perfect for a hike like this. The Wave is stunning, but it’s also remote and demanding. Documenting the hike gave me the chance to capture not only the design of the pack but also how it performs under real conditions: sun-scorched terrain, sharp rock, and long miles.
From soft morning light glowing on sandstone curves to dramatic midday shadows casting depth into the rocks, every frame felt like a piece of art. The pack moved naturally with us, and I made it a point to photograph it in moments of rest, motion, and rugged exposure. It wasn’t just about the product—it was about telling the story of where it could take you.
This shoot reminded me why I love outdoor photography. It’s not just gear on a white backdrop—it’s gear in action, tested by the trail and framed by nature.
